NSF Noyce Post-Baccalaureate STEM Award

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Noyce Post-baccalaureate (post-bacc) Scholarship is open to qualified STEM professionals who have been admitted to the UCCSTeach program. Recipients may receive the award for up to one year as a post-bacc student. Recipients must be a US citizen or resident alien, maintain minimum GPA of 2.75, and have completed the required UCCSTeach interview in order to be considered. As per NSF guidelines, all Noyce post-bacc recipients must agree to teach in a high-needs classroom for two years in return for each year of scholarship support received. NSF Noyce post-bacc scholarship recipients must review and sign a required promissory note explaining the complete scholarship obligations prior to receiving any funds. If all scholarship requirements are not fulfilled, this scholarship will convert to a loan and must be repaid with interest.

Applicants will be notified of scholarship results in May.

  1. In a MINIMUM OF 500 WORDS, describe your motivation to teach math or science in a high-needs classroom. MAXIMUM OF 1000 WORDS allowed. Essays will be ranked based upon content, length, grammar, spelling, organized structure, and attention to detail. You are encouraged to write an essay that grabs the attention of the reader by being creative and using rich language.
