Continuing Graduate Student Research Fellowship

The Continuing Graduate Student Research Fellowship is a competitive award given to students who are engaged in research activity. Awards are for students who are enrolled at UCCS at time of scholarship application and who will be participating in research during the award period. The fellowship provides tuition support at $3,000 per semester for Fall and Spring semesters. To qualify, students must have a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.25 and be engaged in research at the time of the award.

  1. Continuing Graduate Student Fellowship Letter of Recommendation: Please enter in the name and email address of a faculty member who will provide a letter of recommendation on your behalf.
  2. Please enter in the name and email address of the faculty member who will serve as an advisor for your research activities. This person must be different than your other recommender. Please communicate to your recommender that they must show commitment to working with you on research in their letter in order for your application to be considered.
  3. In a minimum of 500 words and less than 1500 words, please describe the importance of research for your graduate education and how research activity prepares you for your career. You may discuss past research engagement as well as present and future research activities in your essay. This should not be a proposal for a specific research activity although you may use specific activities for examples. This is an essay about research accomplishments and goals for yourself.
