Continuing Graduate Student Research Fellowship

The Continuing Graduate Student Research Fellowship is a competitive award sponsored by the Graduate School and the Center for Student Research given to outstanding continuing students, including international students, from any graduate program. Students should be enrolled full-time in a UCCS graduate program at time of receipt of the fellowship. To qualify, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and be engaged in research/scholarship with a faculty member during the award period.

Important: Please note your faculty recommendation letters must also be submitted by March 1. We advise that you submit your application earlier than March 1 to allow time for faculty to submit their letters.

  1. 1. Continuing Graduate Student Fellowship Letter of Recommendation: Please enter the name and email address of your faculty advisor who will provide a letter of recommendation on your behalf. Your recommendation writer must show commitment to working with you and providing mentorship or professional development on a research/scholarship project in their letter in order for your application to be considered.
  2. 2. In a minimum of 500 words and less than 1500 words, please describe the importance of research for your graduate education and how research activity prepares you for your career. You may discuss past research engagement as well as present and future research activities in your essay. This should not be a proposal for a specific research activity although you may use specific activities for examples. This is an essay about research accomplishments and professional goals for yourself.
