Dr. Michelle Elizabeth Neely Undergraduate Award Fund

This fund was established to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Michelle Neely. Dr. Neely directed the Writing Across the Curriculum and Writing Portfolio Assessment Programs at UCCS while also teaching in the Department of English. Her courses included Advanced Rhetoric and Composition. She also taught Research Methods in Writing Studies, and students from her classes have presented their projects at the Colorado Springs Undergraduate Research Forum (CSURF) each of the past eight years. Michelle taught for the Honors and Gateway Program Seminar. She served as faculty advisor for the Undergraduate Research Journal, UCCS’ student-run peer-reviewed journal for student research.

Eligible applicants must be enrolled in the UCCS College of Letters, Arts & Sciences. Preference will be given to students who are participating in the UCCS CSURF (Colorado Springs Undergraduate Research Forum) and/or participating in the Undergraduate Research Journal, with priority given to student who are the first generation in their family to attend college. Preference will also be given to non-traditional students.
